Hello Everyone! Welcome to my blog and another wonderful colour combo challenge created by Teneale Williams.
I will admit this colour combo had me stumped a bit, but I love a good challenge! As I was looking through my new stamp sets, Today's Tiles popped out as I remembered a similar card created by Michele Miller. I believe this stamp set shows off this colour combo quite well, and makes me want to use these colours together more often.
I started off with Soft Suede card stock as my card base, with a background of Mint Macaron card stock. I thought the Tasteful Textile embossing folder provided just the right subtle accent to the background, and I stamped the images in alternating colour combinations on Very Vanilla card stock.
The stamp set is a two-step process, one stamp for the background and another for the
accent colour.
I find using the Stamparatus is perfect for lining up two step stamps, but actually I love using the Stamparatus for just about anything! It provides the freedom to apply the right amount of ink that
pleases you.
I used one of the sentiments included in the stamp set in Soft Suede ink on Mint Macaron card stock, trimmed and set on dimensionals. The tile strips are set on with dimensionals, with the whole front (including background) attached with dimensionals.
I stamped the tiles in Teracotta Tile and Pretty Peacock inks for the inside border, and added a narrow strip of Soft Suede card stock above. I thought the Trio Punch was a pretty accent to bring out the Mint Macaron through the Very Vanilla card stock. I was also attempting to show off all of the colours in the combo as well.
I used a piece of linen twine to tie around the background, and created a little bow.
I really love the warm feeling these colours and the Today's Tiles stamp set provide, just makes me feel warm and cuddly all over! It fits right into my country setting here in Bredbo!
I hope you have enjoyed my card and it gave you some inspiration to try these colours together, and to give the Today's Tiles stamp set a go.
Happy Stampin' Fun!
