INKspired Colour Combo Challenge 126 - Mountain Air

Hello Everyone!  Welcome to another great colour combo challenge created by Teneale Williams.

You may have reached my blog from Katrina Healy, if not please hop back when you are through and check out what she has created using this colour challenge!

I have actually gone quite simplistic with this colour combo challenge. I am really taken by the Mountain Air Stamp Set and the beautiful, yet simplistic, results.

I thought, what would these colours look like as a sky background for the wonderful Majestic Mountain Dies that coordinate with the Mountain Air Stamp Set.

Also depending on the light, the results are daylight or evening. I started with a brayer sponge in Basic Gray ink on Whisper White Cardstock, lighter from the bottom until around midway.

Next, I added a layer of Just Jade ink on top the Basic Gray, darker above where the
mountain tops would be.

Lastly, I added a dark layer of Merry Merlot ink blending the Basic Gray, Just Jade and Merry Merlot.

I needed some stars and a moon, so first I splatter water over the background,
and a perfect moon appeared!

Next I spattered Frost White and Bright Champagne Mist shimmer paint by applying a small amount  to the edge of a clear block, and flicking it with a paint brush onto the background.

This produced the perfect illusion of stars in the colourful sky!
Next I layered two sets of mountains.

The mountains were stamped in Shaded Spruce ink on a die cut piece of Basic Gray.

The whole front sheet was then placed on a base card in Merry Merlot Cardstock.

I chose to use a sentiment from the Sending You Thoughts Stamp Set in White Embossing powder on Merry Merlot Cardstock and then trimmed around the wording.  The sentiment is placed on the card with dimensionals for added layering.

I hope you try using brayer sponges for dynamic backgrounds. Also, don't forget to splatter some glimmer paint for that added effect.

Let me know what colours you used and how it came out!

Thanks for having a look at my blog contribution, now it's time to hop forward to Narelle Macey's blog.  I can't wait myself!

Cheers and happy stamping!
